Oh, My Unplayed Love...

Dear NiGHTS,

I want you so badly in my life...I mean, look at you! You're so...beautiful.

I'm waiting for you. Please come to Wii, honey! I want those rumors about you appearing on my beloved Wii to be true! Perhaps we will finally be together in harmony, my sweetheart!

I need you so much....

Mr. Green

GDC: Super Mario Galaxy = Very Yes.

I'm so excited.

If you haven't heard by now, Nintendo released a new Super Mario Galaxy trailer at Shigeru Miyamoto's keynote.

I remembered why I'm so excited for this one.

The video can be seen here.

This game is looking to be the perfect blend of 2D and 3D Mario, along with new element of interactivity and fun with the Wii Remote.

I think this is it, fellas. I'm really feeling that this will be the game that is the spiritual successor to Super Mario 64.

But the best part of the trailer for me?

At 1:18, there's a coin wall.

If any of you remember, there weren't that many coins in the other 3D Mario titles. In fact, there were so few that, in Super Mario 64, collecting 50 granted the player and extra life, and 100 granted the player a Power Star.

This is why I am both impressed and amazed that a wall of coins like in the original Super Mario Bros. has appeared in Super Mario Galaxy.

It's nice to see old, loved elements returning. I'm loving Nintendo EAD Tokyo more and more by the second.

GDC: Mr. Miyamoto = Win.

I've just got to say, Mr. Miyamoto's keynote was really well done.

If you have not seen this excellent, insightful presentation yet, please watch it as soon as humanly possible.

It is that good.

And plus, there's a new clip of Super Mario Galaxy at the end, i.e. a game that is looking to be the best Mario title since Super Mario 64.

I'll be ranting about Super Mario Galaxy in a moment...
